The OE Replacement Chain is a module within TOPMOTIVE’s catalog and information system NEXT. It builds on the basic functionality of the OE number search and supports users in achieving better search results – for example, when OE numbers have been replaced by the manufacturer in the meantime or have already been assigned more than once.
The problem: why OE number searches fail
OE numbers are replaced by manufacturers at irregular intervals – resulting in no match or an incorrect article. Articles may also be missing due to outdated data maintenance by data suppliers. On top of that, OE numbers are sometimes assigned more than once, referring to different articles for different manufacturers.
